Christmas Outreach
Again this year we have two wonderful ways to share our blessings with the neediest in our community.
Tree of Hope - We are helping approximately 150 underprivileged children and adults enjoy a happy surprise this Christmas. Victory families had the opportunity to take tags with names and suggested gifts from the Tree of Hope in the lobby on Sunday mornings at Methacton. The gifts are being distributed this week.
Christmas Dinner - The participation among Victory members has been so great in the past that this year we will continue to provide dinners on Christmas Day at three Norristown locations! Dinner will be served to 1) residents of the Montgomery County Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center (CHOC) located at building 53 on the grounds of Norristown State Hospital located at 1001 Sterigere Street; 2) to residents of the Family House (women and their children) located at 901 DeKalb Street; and 3) to people served by the Montgomery County Peer Resource Center located at 538 DeKalb Pike.
This project requires lots of help! But the work is divided into shifts that make it manageable for everyone. This project is also very family friendly. You and your children can join together in bringing God’s love to the less fortunate.
We need people who can cook, help with setup or breakdown, serve food, or chat with and pray for those we feed. Setup will take place in one- to two-hour shifts from 10 am to 12 noon, food will be received from 12:45 to 1:30 pm, dinner will be served from 2 to 5 pm, and breakdown will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
